The overall character of design is minimalist, charming, welcoming, and pragmatic. An outdoor retail street dissects the plaza, connecting the east and west end of the site and guiding visitors into the project. Looping through the center of the development, “Unitech Street” invites pedestrian circulation from indoors to out, creating a continuous loop that connects the mall concourses and an outdoor retail ‘street’. Along the street, are specific areas of expansion and contraction allowing for visitors to meander through the complex and creating a rich, unique shopping experience.
It provides a balanced retail experience for customers and creates an outdoor hospitality for Zhuhai locals who have a tradition for outdoor leisure and entertainment activities – this as an interesting node and focal point in the street that attracts customers.
Within the mall structure, LINK designed an open atrium, utilizing natural daylight and creating a transparent and dramatic retail exhibition during the day. At night, the atrium is transformed into a fantasyland through dynamic LED lighting design.

Located in southwest of Guangdong province, Zhuhai is nicknamed “city of hundred islands”. The oceanfront city is famous for its beautiful and elegant garden-like, urban atmosphere and is considered to be “the pearl of the sea”.
LINK Design Group was commissioned to create a new mixed use center focused on outdoor lifestyle. The developer sought out innovative designs to attract desirable retails brands and LINK proposed a retail program to include rooftop dining with gardens and terraced street retail to appeal to customers and businesses alike.
The masterplans massing flow around a terraced central plaza with an outdoor theater and interactive water feature. LINK designed the Zhuhai Unitech mixed use project, taking inspiration from the natural phenomenon of sea water eroding stone, by creating beautiful curves that reflect the movement of water.
