International Design Studio, Link Design Group, Designs Hospitality Inspired Residences in Downtown Bellevue

This new residential concept – Bellevue10 Apartments – offers downtown, urban living with a distinctive Bellevue flair

December 2022,

Link Design Group is thrilled to announce the opening of Bellevue10 Apartments. An international architectural studio, Link Design Group recently completed an innovative, community-oriented residential building development on a small and challenging site, with a scalable, proven concept that’s both functional and distinctive.

Located at 10050 NE 10th Street, Bellevue, WA, residents, and visitors will find unlimited amenities at the doorstep of the location. “If you want to live in Bellevue, we’re within a few blocks of everything. This corner of the downtown core provides the optimum residential location,” says Scott Douglas, Principal at Link Design Group. The building started accepting residents at the beginning of June 2022 and was 90% occupied by the end of August.

While some firms design either the exterior or interior on similar multi-family projects, Link Design Group provided full design services for both the shell & core and interiors, delivering a seamless transition between outdoor and indoor experiences. The building is co-owned by Binjiang of China and Molasky Group of Companies from Las Vegas. Molasky also oversaw construction management on the project, working with Osbourne Construction Company, general contractors.

Link Design Group incorporated several notable features into the building façade. The design uses color variations to create movement, and balconies are placed in random, yet balanced, patterns to break up the typical symmetrical grid of windows found in the multifamily projects. Windows and balconies lend character to the façade through designed frames, creating shadow and depth, while exhaust ports are woven in as a subtle feature of the overall composition.

One of only two apartment buildings in downtown Bellevue to come online in recent years, this marketable project has 102 units and infuses the history of Bellevue with a youthful spirit and traditional sensibilities. Each unit is equipped with air-conditioning and features floor-to-ceiling pantry shelving on casters, offering residents a generous amount of kitchen storage. Each floor of the building incorporates art, creating memorable environments throughout.

The hospitable and welcoming interiors feature a great living room off the main lobby, a communal fireplace, a floating bar, and boutique finishes such as Calacatta marble and blackened steel details. The design centers around community enhancement, creating spaces and amenities for property management to host programs and activities, offering the feel of a boutique hotel that is charming and fosters connections among residents. The interior design creates a welcome environment, lobby, amenity spaces, and unit entry door.

A rooftop deck is designed as an extension of the indoor amenity spaces. Visitors experience multiple outdoor rooms under a trellis for large and small gatherings that can also be used for group exercise or taking a quiet moment. Across the expanse, there are firepits, a social bar, large screen TV, and an unobstructed view of downtown Bellevue and toward Mt. Rainer beyond, as well as the Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges.

Link Design Group is in the midst of another Bellevue apartment project generically called 111th Apartments for now — a 141-unit workforce housing building, bookended by the two new downtown Bellevue light rail stations. This project is nearing completion of the entitlement process and will break ground on construction in late 2023
